Private Airpark in the area of Johor??

Topics: 2   Posts: 4
How are the prospects and interest of creating a private air park in the area of Johor. For those who are not familiar with private air parks. An air park is where you create a subdivision in which people purchase building sites and part of the subdivision is an airstrip. Basically airplane owners have the hangar at their house where they live. Johor seems to have a great aviation community and the proximity to Singapore should be perfect.

interesting concept. I am not sure if there are any airparks in Malaysia at this stage but there are many in Thailand.

The Malaysia government is developing the Iskandar Project which aims to transform that area to a new economic zone and i think the airpark idea might be one of ideas that they might support.

Sorry to disappoint you but there is already an airpark in Malaysia.
Bernam River Airfield is licenced as WMBR and is operating with a number of permanently based aircraft. Situated near Slim River. See the photo section of this web site.
I have been flying from there for over a year now.
Land plots are not for sale as yet but will be available very soon.
All pilots welcome but recommend you call first

Hey excellent to know. Do you maybe have any contact info/ e-mail address?
No dissapointment at all. Give it a few years and these airparks will be spread over most Countries that have a fairly open airspace.
Thanks to you and save flights to all

Graham,

Can you provide some details about the facilities at Bernham River? What is there now, and what is planned for the future?

Who do I contact to fly in for a visit? Is there anything to see or do when you get there??

Regards
John
