Iphone Apps

We are quite a few using Iphones for flight related tasks and I wanted to let others know the really cool apps I found advertised on different pilot websites. Please go on to the appstore to see the apps. That's what I am using now..

Aeroweather (free)
Display Taf and Metar very well, also showing nearby stations.

Copilot (about USD10)
Absolutely brilliant,  combine flight routing (world wide database of airport, VOR , intersections..) performance data, E6B, Weight and balance... Quite a few aircraft in the database. Cirrus , DA40...

Files:  (a few bucks on appstore) See www.olivetoast.com
A file viewer for any type of files. I haven't used it yet but I plan to add some of the wac charts and AIP info on it.

If any of you have the latest local scanned WAC , I would be interested to try to use them with File and report.

Cheers,

JJ

 Ted,

I had not seen the actual nav page!!!  I was thinking of using it mainly for planing route and fuel . Now if it can be used as an emergency navigation device, it's even better.

There is another good apps called Ibriefing that is quite good in US and Europe where they have access to a lot of data. The quality of Meteo information one can get in the US and Europe free is pretty amazing... One good site in French sorry but by clicking around , one can get an idea...

and we don't have terminal radar anymore for Singapore :(
WOA could invite the MET guys for a flight one day to show them how we could use basic met information..

Yes, I use aeroweather too and its great. now purchasing copilot after ted's mention last week.

WOA has approached NEA several times to request a discussion on possible arrangements how to offer these radar services to our registered members conveniently but they say they not sure how to make such arrangements for private and non-company GA pilots as they have never done it before and need to evaluate, its been a year, no news. how I wish a service provider can offer these weather info for the region on a mobile conveniently....it would mean so much to our flight opns. We'll keep scouting. :(

A bit SR22 biased, but I am using:

Aeroweather (Excellent)
SR22G3cp (Excellent, Cirrus Performance Data, W&B etc)
iE6B (Good, useful conversions etc)
SR22av (Good, SR22 POH data)

Thanks for the input on other apps JJ, I will try them out.

Regards
John
