Aug 2009 - WingsOverAsia.com commercialises to WingsOverAsia Pte Ltd

With a vision to grow and enhance support for private aviation, Meng spins off WOA into a separate private entity dedicated to aviation - WingsOverAsia Pte Ltd.

Mar 2009 - Inaugural WOA Asia Aviators Gathering & Fly-In (Hua Hin, Thailand)

WOA organizes the inaugural Asia Aviators Gathering attended by aviators from more than 9 Asian countries.

 

Sep 2009 - Aircraft Ferry Services to Japan

WOA provides aircraft delivery service for Diamond Aircrafts and delivers Japan's 1st Jet-fuel powered Diamond DA42-TDI. The delivery flight started in Vienna,Austria and ended in Fukushima, Japan.

Over the subsequent years, WOA continue to ferry more Diamond aircrafts to Japan.

 
 

Oct 2009 - WOA imports first Diamond DA40s into Singapore

WOA imports Singapore’s first 2 Diamond DA40s with full ownership setup and delivery. One aircraft was delivered to MAJ Aviation for setup of a university flying program and another to private owner member for leisure use.

 

Nov 2009 - WOA contracted as consultant and service support for MAJ and UniSIM/STEE Flight Experience Projects

WOA co-founds and provides operational management and administrative support for Singapore's first new generation flying club concept (Discovery Flying Club), import Singapore's 1st modern glass cockpit piston aircrafts and helps design flight experience program for UniSIM/STEE.

This project facilitated MAJ Aviation's into the Singapore's general aviation industry.

Jun 2010 - WOA conducts Pacific Aerospace PAC750XL’s first demonstration flights in SE Asia.

WOA management pilots was trained and conducted the first demo tours in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Jun 2010 - WOA develops in-house e-Learning software portal customised for SYFC ab-initio training syllabus

An interactive computer-based training (CBT) package for ab-initio aircraft systems training fully customised and developed by WOA’s in-house software developers.

Jul 2010 - WOA delivers Diamond Simulations’ 1st DA40 Flight Training Device in Southeast Asia

Diamond Simulations 1st Flight Training Device (FTD) in Southeast Asia installed with CAE Tropos Visual.

Sep 2010 - WOA completes SYFC fleet enhancement with 13x Diamond DA40 aircrafts certification & training

WOA management pilots completes local Singapore airworthiness certification for 13 aircrafts including aircraft familiarisation training all SYFC instructors.

 

Nov 2010 - WOA begins operations in Seletar Airport, Singapore

WOA commences flight support operations in Seletar Airfield, Singapore for resident private aircraft owners; innovates airport parking with the design and implementation of optimised and self-managed compact parking concept in collaboration with Changi Airport Group and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, a first in Singapore!

Feb 2011 - WOA pioneers compact parking design in Singapore

WOA's compact parking concept was immediately adopted by the airport for large jets parking as well but WOA remains the only operator "approved for self-powered" aircraft movements "within" a self-managed compact parking area having approved operating procedures.

 
 
 

Mar 2011 - 1st TBM850 in Asia arrives in Singapore with ferry flight support from WOA

Daher-Socata delivers Southeast Asia's 1st TBM850 very fast turboprop to WOA member Mr John Giddens at WOA's TBM850 aircraft appreciation day. WOA's founder assisted and flew with the owner in the delivery flight from France to Singapore.

 

Jun 2011 - WOA management pilots become 1st Singaporeans to cross the Atlantic with single-engine piston aircraft

As part of a delivery of a single-engine (standard configuration with no extra ferry tanks and no de-icing equipment) to a Singapore member, WOA pilots flies eastward from California,USA - Eastern USA - Canada via Europe to Singapore.

Dec 2011 - WOA commences Garmin G1000 Glass Cockpit training

WOA becomes 1st company in Asia to develop in-house and conduct a Garmin G1000 scenario-based glass cockpit training for operators of piston, turbo-prop and jet aircrafts equipped with G1000 integrated avionics.

Nov 2011 - Opens Seletar Airfield Office & Aviator's’ Lounge

To provide faster service to leisure pilots and aircraft owners, WOA relocates to within a stone throw away from Seletar Airport terminal becoming one of the first tenants of JTC’s newly built JTC Aviation One aerospace complex. Cautiously expanding to a humble 2,000sqft office cum aviators’ lounge to ensure sustainability, WOA also started investing in vehicles and equipment to support the safe operations compact parking areas serving all private aircraft. Founder Meng transfers complimentary shares to his airline pilot buddy Siva and welcomed him as WOA’s first shareholder in recognition of his contributions during the founding years.

May 2011 - Opens Thailand country office, with concierge services based out of Bangkok City.

An exclusive ClubWOA lounge with flight related operations based at Best Ocean Airpark, amidst a 18-hole golf-course with private villas.

Apr 2012 - WOA provides pilot and management support for Southeast Asia’s 1st PC12NG

Pilot and trip support for Pilatus PC12NG for Malaysian VIP customer.

Dec 2012 - WOA launch ocean survival and ditching training for private pilots.

Beyond just pioneering escorted group flying tours all over Asia for leisure aircrafts and pilots, WOA was the first to conduct all-rounded safety awareness training for leisure pilots flying.

 

2012 - Record Year of WOA escorted Flying Tours across Asia

From Philippines to Indonesia to Australia to Thailand to Cambodia to Laos, ClubWOA’s organised and guided flying tours reaches record number of south-east Asian countries with groups as large as 15 aircrafts ranging from pistons to jets in one trip, showcasing WOA’s international GA flight operations knowledge and capabilities.

 

Feb 2013 - WOA granted Ground Handling License by Changi Airport Group

Over a simple humble course of fish and chips at Changi Airport with no fan-fare, WOA signs and obtains ground handling license.

Apr 2013 - WOA management pilots receives Cirrus factory CSIP certification & subsequently Cirrus Aircraft Sales Representative.

Cirrus Standardised Instructor Program (CSIP) certification allows WOA instructors to provide factory training in Asia for Cirrus customers.

May 2013 - WOA obtains TBM

Authorised Sales Representative

In France, on the sidelines of a French Airshow, WOA signs and obtains Authorised Sales Representative of the TBM fast turboprop product with Daher TBM.

Jul 2013 -ClubWOA lounge selected by Channel News Asia to launch and telecast 1st ever “LIVE” off-studio morning show.

Sep 2013 - WOA obtains Exclusive Piper Dealership for Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia

Within the same year pioneered the delivery of 2 Piper Meridians turboprop to South-east Asia.

 

Feb 2014 - WOA attracts eyeballs at Singapore Airshow with first-time ever multi-brand GA aircraft displays.

WOA displays latest private aircrafts as a multi-brand representative at Singapore Airshow 2014.

Apr 2014 - Spreading wings into China…

With it’s first ever exhibition booth in ABACE Shanghai, WOA commences its foray into marketing it’s FBO and GA services into the China market! ClubWOA lifestyle activities began in Chengdu, Sichuan China.

Oct 2014 - WOA purchases and commences Asia pilot & maintenance support of the Eclipse EA500 Very Light Jet in Southeast Asia

 

2014 also marks an eventful year of exciting aircraft deliveries and related activities by WOA.

Yr2015 to Present - Turning Dreams into Reality

Another major milestone and further innovations in Asia’s private aviation services offerings.

Aug 2015 - Construction of WOA Hangar66 in Seletar Airport, Singapore commences.

After 4 years of lobbying the Singapore government, WOA finally gains approval for an integrated private aviation facility and commences construction.

Feb 2015 - Then Japanese owner of Quest Aircraft signs consulting and services support agreement with WOA to provide Asia-wide marketing and sales support for Kodiak K100.

This lead to a series of Kodiak demonstration flights conducted by WOA management pilots covering Japan, Philippines, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and India. WOA was also engaged to provide market research consulting services for seaplane operations in Maldives.

 

Jan2016 - WOA delivers 25 Piper trainers to the Indonesia Flight School & provides pilot trainings.

Fleet deal consisting of 5 Seneca V and 20 Piper Archers

May 2016 - WOA ground handling team forays into supporting military, diplomatic & medivac flights

Foreign military and government aircrafts begins to entrust WOA with ground handling services.

Jun 2016 - WOA designed and build Hangar66 Opens

Located next to Seletar Airport terminal, 72,000sqft of purpose-built integrated private aviation facility serving the Southeast Asia GA market.

Jan 2017 - Beyond high quality FBO and hangar services, WOA innovates with aviation themed educational and lifestyle services offerings at WOA Hangar66 bringing aviation lifestyle experiences to the public.

Aug 2017 - WOA becomes 1st Singapore local company to receive IS-BAH (International Standard for Business Jet Handling) certification.

Jan 2018 - WOA founder makes Solo non-stop central atlantic ocean crossing using a Piper M600.

WOA accomplished a 4 day journey from USA to Singapore for Singapore Airshow.

Mar 2018 - WOA provides management services to support Seletar Flying Club’s re-structuring

WOA signs collaboration agreement with Seletar Flying Club upon their request to provide administrative, flight sales and management services to the club to help the club to attain sustainability.

Apr 2018 - WOA flies GA airplanes to participate in China Airshow

Marks the first time a foreign registered Daher TBM and Piper M600 lands in multiple cities in China.

Sep 2018 - WOA awarded management and pilot support agreement of HondaJet for Japanese owner.

Dec 2018 - WOA supports a series of HondaJet demo flights in China during winter for Chinese dealer.

Apr 2019 - WOA commences delivery of 12 Piper Archers to Malaysia Flight School

May 2019 - WOA provides Piper training services to Sichuan, China flight school.

Aug 2019 - WOA attains IS-BAH Stage 2 Certification

Aug 2019 - WOA Celebrates 10th Anniversary!

Dec 2019 - WOA delivers 5 Piper Archers DX to Indonesia Navy training school

Feb 2020 - WOA provides handling support for OEM aircrafts coming for Singapore Airshow 2020
